YES THEORY

The one and only YouTube channel I am subscribed to.

I’ve shared Yes Theory more than I’ve shared any other content.

Yes Theory is a group of 3 friends (originally 4) who make videos pushing people to say yes and seek discomfort. Their videos are both super entertaining to watch and have inspiring messages.

They set challenges for themselves like being stranded in a country for 24 hours with no wallet, finding an uber driver who will go skydiving with them, or going on a date with a stranger in another country. They’ve even heli-bungeed with Will Smith.

I love that they spread such a positive message. They’re also super relatable for all of us in our mid-20s trying to figure out what the fuck we’re doing with our lives, while also wanting to appreciate the world around us. Personally, going on a date with a stranger in another country is especially relatable. 🙂

A few messages Yes Theory lives by and shares (as seen in the video below):

  • Action is the antidote to despair
  • A stranger is a friend you haven’t met
  • It’s never too late to start
  • Joy grows when it’s shared
  • One “Yes” can change your life
  • On the other side of fear hides ultimate bliss

My brother Ross actually introduced me to Yes Theory on a family trip earlier this year. And I’m really glad he did. To be honest, I’m surprised that he found it before me because 1) they live where I do in Venice, CA and 2) my brother is much more reserved than me and less likely to take on the same adventures Yes Theory does. I love it though – it gives us a new thing to bond over.

Yes Theory quickly became my late night binge habit for a bit of happiness before bed and my new Sunday ritual (they release a new video every Sunday).

Here are a few of my favorite videos I recommend you watch. Be careful, you’ll get addicted quickly:
