“I don’t have time”: My biggest pet peeve
Don’t have time to travel? Don’t have time to workout? Don’t have time to date? Don’t have time for your favorite hobby? Don’t have time to see your family? Don’t have time to volunteer? Don’t have time to cook?
It’s not that you don’t have time. It’s that you haven’t made something a priority.
And that’s OK.
Own it. Be comfortable with it. Change it when you’re not comfortable with it.
Let’s shift our language and be conscious of the ample opportunity we do have to create time. Not everyone in the world shares the same luxuries.
Make it a point to set your priorities to align with your goals, to align with what makes you happy.
If there’s something you really want more of, observe how others make it work. Decide if the trade offs they make are worth it to you. If they are, set yourself up to make them too. It may take time, it may not be easy, but you can do it.
Priorities change too. Shift your time allocation as you need to. It’s healthy to focus on different aspects of your life at different times.
Just stop saying “I don’t have time.” You have the same amount of time as everyone else.
